Description

MoBiTec's Extra Long PCR Kit has been developed for the amplification of very long DNA templates (> 20 kb). However, it is suitable for the amplification of short templates (> 1 kb) as well. This kit is ideally suited to produce high yields of PCR products from various sources of DNA. It consists of a controlled mix of enzymes that can be used in any experiment where quantity, fidelity and long fragment size are required. It may be used to replace Taq DNA Polymerase and Pwo DNA Polymerase. However, the main application is to amplify very long target sequences, including genomic DNA. MoBiTec's Extra Long PCR Kit amplifies fragments of up to 30 kb from human genomic DNA and up to 40 kb from lambda DNA.With this new methodology, the rapid characterization and cloning of complete genes from genomic DNA is possible, using cDNA sequence information as a starting point.

Applications

The kit can thus be used for any application that requires amplification of very long DNA sequences, such as:

amplification and analysis of full length cDNAs or viral genomes.
cloning and analysis of genes.
