Pwo DNA Polymerase is a highly processive 5' > 3' DNA polymerase with additional 3' > 5' exonuclease (proof-reading) activity. Pwo DNA Polymerase was originally isolated from the thermophilic archaebacterium Pyrococcus woesei; MoBiTec's Pwo DNA Polymerase is the recombinant form cloned in E. coli. The enzyme has no detectable 5' > 3' exonuclease activity. Pwo DNA Polymerase exhibits increased thermal stability as well as a tenfold increase in fidelity of DNA synthesis compared to Taq DNA Polymerase. Pwo DNA Polymerase generates blunt-ended PCR* products.
